The carnivores all come from the Miacidae species
Common Ancestor
All carnivora species are linked back to one common ancestor. The Miacidae lived in the Paleocene and Eocene epochs about 62-33 million years ago. They could have existed for 29 million years. They were small carnivores, superficially marten-like or civet-like with long, small bodies, and long tails. Some of the species lived on the trees while others lived in the ground. They probably fed on invertebrates, lizards, birds, and other small mammals. Their teeth and skull show that the Miacids were less developed than modern carnivorans. They has carnivoran-type teeth, but lacked the rounded ears.
